Adding Items

Learn how to add new items to your vault.

Quick Add​

  1. Tap the + Add Item button (floating action button at the bottom)
  2. Select an item type from the list
  3. Fill in the details
  4. Tap Save

Choosing an Item Type​

LockYit offers 43 item types. Here are the most common:

Password​

For website and app passwords.

  • Name: e.g. "Netflix"
  • Website: e.g. "https://www.netflix.com"
  • Username: your email or username
  • Password: your password (or use Generate to create a strong one)
  • Recovery Codes: Optional to add any recovery codes provided by the website, e.g. "1234567890, AB1234, CD5678, EF9012"
  • Notes: Optional to add any notes, e.g. "My own account"

Credit Card​

For storing payment cards.

  • Cardholder Name: Name on the card
  • Card Number: Full 16-digit number
  • Expiration: MM/YY format
  • CVV: 3 or 4 digit security code

Secure Note​

For sensitive text information.

  • Title: Note name
  • Content: Your secure text

Contact​

For personal or professional contacts.

  • Name: Person's name
  • Email: Email address
  • Phone: Phone number
  • Date of Birth: Date of birth of the person

Filling in Details​

Required Fields​

Some fields are marked as required (shown with a red asterisk *). You must fill these in before saving.

Optional Fields​

Most fields are optional. Fill in what you need and leave the rest blank.

Password Generation​

For password fields, tap the Generate icon (password) to create a strong random password. See Password Generator for details.

You can customize:

  • Length (8-128 characters)
  • Include uppercase letters
  • Include lowercase letters
  • Include numbers
  • Include symbols

Show/Hide Sensitive Fields​

Sensitive fields (passwords, CVVs) are hidden by default. Tap the eye icon (visibility) to reveal them.

Adding Custom Fields​

Need a field that isn't included? Add your own:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the item
  2. Tap Add Custom Field
  3. Enter a field name
  4. Choose the field type:
    • Text - Regular text
    • Password - Hidden, secure text
    • URL - Clickable link
    • Date - Date picker
  5. Fill in the value
  6. Tap Done

Quick Entry

Don't have all the details? Save what you have now and add more later. You can edit any item at any time.
