Notes

LockYit includes a powerful secure notes feature with rich text formatting.

What are Secure Notes?

Secure Notes let you store any text information with full encryption:

• Private thoughts and journals
• Important codes and combinations
• Medical information
• Travel itineraries
• Shopping lists
• Anything you want to keep private

Creating a Note

From the Home Screen

1. In the item list view in the Home screen, click or tap the + Add Item button
2. Select Note from the item type list
3. Enter a name for your note
4. Write your content in the editor
5. Click or tap Save

From the Notes Screen

1. In the Notes screen, click or tap the + Add Note button
2. Enter a name for your note
3. Write your content in the editor
4. Click or tap Save

Rich Text Formatting

The notes editor supports formatting options:

Text Styling

• Bold - Make text stand out
• Italic - Emphasize text
• Strikethrough - Cross out text
• Code - Format code snippets

Structure

• Headings - H1, H2, H3 for organization
• Bullet Lists - Unordered lists
• Numbered Lists - Ordered lists
• Checkboxes - To-do style items

Other

• Links - Clickable URLs
• Quotes - Block quotations

Using the Editor

Toolbar

The formatting toolbar appears above the keyboard (mobile) or at the top of the editor (desktop).

Viewing Notes

1. Go to the Notes screen
2. Browse your notes list
3. Tap any note to view it
4. Scroll through the full formatted content

Interacting with Links

• View Mode: Links are directly clickable. Tap or click to open in your browser.
• Edit Mode: To follow a link while editing, hold Cmd (macOS) or Ctrl (Windows/Linux) and click the link.

Editing Notes

1. Open the note
2. Tap Edit
3. Make your changes
4. Tap Save

Searching Notes

Your notes are fully searchable via the Search feature:

1. Use the main search bar
2. Type any word from your note
3. Notes containing that text will appear in results

LockYit uses secure search indexing - your search terms are never stored in plain text.

Use Notes for Complex Information

Notes are perfect for things that don't fit into structured item types:
