Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using LockYit ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

LockYit is an offline-first password manager and secure vault application that allows you to:

  • Store passwords, documents, notes, and other sensitive information
  • Access your vault across unlimited devices with a single account
  • Use the application entirely offline without internet connectivity

Current offering: LockYit is provided free of charge with full functionality. All features are available without payment.

3. Account Registration

To use LockYit, you must:

  • Create an account with a valid email address
  • Create a master password that you will remember
  • Be at least 13 years of age

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your master password
  • Safely storing your recovery key
  • All activities that occur under your account

4. Your Data and Encryption

Zero-Knowledge Architecture: Your vault data is encrypted on your device using your master password. We cannot access, view, or recover your encrypted data.

Your Responsibility: If you lose both your master password AND your recovery key, your data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. This is by design for maximum security.

Data Ownership: You retain full ownership of all data you store in LockYit. We claim no rights to your content.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use LockYit to:

  • Store content that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the application
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose

6. Unlimited Devices

You may install and use LockYit on an unlimited number of devices using the same account. Each device maintains its own local copy of your encrypted vault.

7. Future Paid Services

We may introduce optional paid cloud synchronization services in the future. These services will be:

  • Entirely optional — the free offline version will remain available
  • End-to-end encrypted — maintaining our zero-knowledge architecture
  • Clearly priced — with transparent terms before you subscribe

We will provide notice before introducing any paid services and will not change the free tier in a way that removes existing functionality.

8. Intellectual Property

LockYit, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by TechOrion AI. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the application in accordance with these Terms.

9. Disclaimers

AS-IS Service: LockYit is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Security: While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

Data Loss: We are not responsible for data loss resulting from forgotten master passwords, lost recovery keys, device failures, or other circumstances beyond our control.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TechOrion AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Upon termination, your local data remains on your devices until you delete it. We do not retain copies of your encrypted vault data.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms and changing the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
