Installation

LockYit is available on all major devices. Refer to the section for your device below to get started.

iOS (iPhone & iPad)

  1. Open the App Store on your device
  2. Search for "LockYit"
  3. Tap Get to download
  4. Open LockYit and create your account

Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Search for "LockYit"
  3. Tap Install
  4. Open LockYit and create your account

macOS

Mac App Store

  1. Open the Mac App Store
  2. Search for "LockYit"
  3. Click Get to install
  4. Open LockYit and create your account

Windows

  1. Open the Microsoft Store
  2. Search for "LockYit"
  3. Click Install to install
  4. Open LockYit and create your account

Linux

  1. Visit lockyit.com/download
  2. Download the appropriate package for your distribution:
    • .deb for Ubuntu/Debian
    • .rpm for Fedora/Red Hat
    • .AppImage for universal compatibility
  3. Install using your package manager or run the AppImage directly

Browser Extensions

LockYit offers browser extensions for auto-filling passwords and saving new credentials.

Chrome

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store
  2. Search for "LockYit"
  3. Click Add to Chrome
  4. Pin the extension to your toolbar

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox Add-ons
  2. Search for "LockYit"
  3. Click Add to Firefox

Edge

  1. Open Edge Add-ons
  2. Search for "LockYit"
  3. Click Get

The browser extension requires the LockYit desktop app to be running. See the Browser Extension guide for setup details.

App Updates

To keep your vault secure, LockYit provides a seamless update mechanism:

  • App Store, Google Play, and Microsoft Store installations will update automatically based on your device settings.
  • Direct downloads (Linux .deb, .rpm, .AppImage) will notify you within the app when a new version is available to download.
  • You can manually check for updates at any time by going to Settings > About > Check for Updates.
