LockYit includes a powerful, privacy-preserving search to help you find anything in your vault instantly.

  1. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen
  2. Type your query
  3. Results appear instantly as you type

What Gets Searched​

LockYit searches across:

  • Item titles
  • All fields inside the item, except for the secure fields like passwords and OTPs.

Search Tips​

Partial Matching​

You don't need to type the full word:

  • goo will find "Google"
  • bank will find "Bank of America"

Multiple Words​

Multiple words search is not supported. Multiple words will be treated as one phrase to search for.

LockYit uses secure search indexing:

  • Search happens entirely on your device
  • No search queries are ever sent to the internet
  • Search tokens are cryptographically hashed
  • Your search history is never stored

This means you get fast, accurate search results without compromising your privacy.

Filtering Results​

By Item Type​

After searching, you can filter by type:

  1. Perform a search
  2. Tap the Filter icon
  3. Select item types to show/hide

In Specific Sections​

Search within a section:

  1. Navigate to a section (e.g., Notes or Tasks)
  2. Use the search bar there
  3. Results are limited to that section

No Results?​

If you can't find what you're looking for:

  1. Check spelling - Try different variations
  2. Search differently - Use the website name instead of the account name
  3. Browse manually - Open the relevant category and scroll
  4. Check recently deleted - The item may have been removed
