Backups

The Backups section in Settings has one entry, Backups, which opens the Backups screen. Its subtitle shows the state of Automatic Backup, for example Backup is up to date or Waiting for the backup folder.

On the Backups screen you can:

  • choose where Automatic Backup keeps your backups (a folder you choose, or this device) and how often it runs
  • back up now with Back Up Now
  • restore any of your backups, or Download one as a single file to keep wherever you like
  • restore, download or delete older backups made by hand in earlier versions

Restore from... in the title bar restores a single backup file (Restore from File) or the backups in a folder another device used (Restore from Folder).

Backups are encrypted and can only be restored by the same account. Restoring a backup replaces the vault on this device, and LockYit asks you to restart afterwards.

The Backups screen is also in the Tools menu, and on a computer in the Backup menu and the status bar.
