Data Settings
Manage your vault data using the import and export tools, and perform maintenance on your database.
The Data section holds two tiles, Export and Import. They were previously named CSV Export and CSV Import; the import tile was renamed because it now accepts KeePass databases and third-party exports as well as CSV files.
Export
Download all items without encryption.
Create a plaintext backup of your vault by exporting to a CSV file.
- Go to Settings → Data
- Tap Export
- Read the security warning
- Tap Export
- Choose a save location
Exporting to CSV means the data will not be encrypted. Anyone with access to the exported file can read your passwords and sensitive fields in plain text.
This tile was previously called CSV Export. It is now simply Export.
Import
Import items from a CSV or ZIP file, including exports from other password managers.
Bring items in from a LockYit export, another password manager, a KeePass database, or any other delimited text file.
- Go to Settings → Data
- Tap Import
- Select a
.csv,.zip,.txtor.kdbxfile - Depending on the file, LockYit either matches the columns automatically or opens the column mapping editor
- Review the items on the preview screen and choose how duplicates are handled
- Tap Import Items - each item is encrypted and stored in your vault
A recognized export is confirmed before anything is imported, and reports how many items it found:
Anything LockYit does not recognize opens the column mapping editor instead:
Both routes end at the same preview, where every item is marked Add or Already in vault:
Import is also available from the Tools menu, without opening Settings.
See Import & Export for the supported formats, the generic importer with custom column mapping, and duplicate handling.
This tile was previously called CSV Import. It is now simply Import, because it accepts more than CSV files.
Refresh Search Data
Rebuilds the internal search index.
- Use this if searching for items that exist is not returning expected results.
- Tap Refresh Search Data to regenerate the index in the background.
Purge Deleted Data
Permanently removes items that have been soft-deleted.
- LockYit soft-deletes items during normal usage to support undo and sync conflict resolution.
- Tap Purge Deleted Data to permanently destroy these items and free up space. This action cannot be undone.
Database Analytics
Get a breakdown of your vault data by item type, field count, and other metrics.
- Tap Database Analytics
- View counts broken down by item type and field usage.
