When we looked for a secure, offline information manager and digital vault that truly respected user privacy, we couldn't find one that met our exact needs. Most solutions heavily depended on the cloud, syncing sensitive data to external servers, or lacked the essential features for holistic data management beyond just passwords.

We wanted a solution where you, and only you, have absolute control over your data. That's why we built LockYit.

The Problem with Cloud-First Managers​

Cloud-based information managers and password vaults offer unparalleled convenience. Being able to access your credentials from any device effortlessly is a huge draw. However, this convenience comes with inherent risks:

  • Single Point of Failure: When you store all your digital secrets on a centralized cloud server, it becomes a high-value target for malicious actors. Even top-tier providers are not immune to sophisticated attacks or breaches.
  • Privacy Concerns: Even with encryption, metadata (like how often you log in, or which services you use) might still be visible or accessible to the provider.
  • Dependence on Internet Connectivity: Without an active internet connection, you risk being locked out of your most crucial information.

We don't cut corners on security. LockYit employs standard, proven cryptographic algorithms, like AES-256 for symmetric encryption. Your data is encrypted before it's saved, ensuring that anyone without your Master Password only sees scrambled, unintelligible data.

Your digital life isn't just about usernames and passwords. It's about secure notes, credit card details, SSH keys, Identity documents, and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) seeds. LockYit is designed as a comprehensive digital vault capable of safeguarding all forms of sensitive information.

While we champion offline security, we don't ignore convenience. LockYit gives you the choice of how to back up, or sync your encrypted vault in your own home or office network, without forcing you into a proprietary cloud service. This convenience will come with a small price to pay for in the near future.

5. Free or Pay​

LockYit is available for free to use on as many devices you want, with no ads, no invasive tracking, and no hidden fees. It will remain free to use always. You will need to pay only if you want cross device sync, or if you want to optionally backup your vault in our encrypted cloud storage service, or if you want to share items with other LockYit users over your local network.
