Logging In
LockYit offers multiple ways to securely access your vault.
Standard Login
Using Your Master Password
- Open LockYit
- Enter your email address
- Enter your master password
- Tap Login
Your vault will open and you can access all your saved items.
The email address you use to login is the same email address you had used to create your account.
The email address needs to be entered only once when you first login on a new device. After that, you only need to eneter your master password or use biometrics to login.
Biometric Login
If you've enabled biometric authentication, you can unlock LockYit with just a glance or a touch.
Face ID / Touch ID (Apple Devices)
- Open LockYit
- The biometric prompt will appear automatically. If not, tap the Unlock with Biometrics button.
- Authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID
- Your vault opens instantly
Fingerprint (Android)
- Open LockYit
- Place your finger on the sensor when prompted. If not, tap the Unlock with Biometrics button.
- Your vault opens instantly
Windows Hello
- Open LockYit
- Use your face, fingerprint, or PIN when prompted. If not, tap the Unlock with Biometrics button.
- Your vault opens instantly
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
If you've enabled 2FA on your account, you'll need to verify with a code after entering your master password:
- Login with your email and master password
- A verification dialog will appear
- Open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code
- Optionally, select the Trust this device for 30 days checkbox to skip this step for future logins on this device.
- Tap Verify to complete login
You can use LockYit's built-in OTP feature as your authenticator for other websites and apps.
Do not setup 2FA for your LockYit account using LockYit's OTP feature on another device. It is not recommended. This is the only scenario we recommend you to have another authenticator app. It will be needed for setting up 2FA for your LockYit account.
Offline Access
Once you have signed in to your account on a device, LockYit works entirely offline. Your vault is stored locally on your device, so you can access all your saved items without an internet connection.
Signing in to your account is what activates the features tied to it - two-factor authentication, access to your recovery key, and the ability to manage your password. These are account-level features that require your account to be set up on the device at least once. After that initial sign-in, your vault remains fully accessible offline at all times.
LockYit does not require an active connection to your account for day-to-day use. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
Auto-Lock
For your security, LockYit automatically locks your vault after a period of inactivity. See Auto-Lock settings for options.
You can adjust this timeout in Settings → Security → Auto-Lock.
Available options:
- Never
- After 1 minute
- After 5 minutes
- After 10 minutes
- After 15 minutes
- After 30 minutes
- After 1 hour
