v1.3.0
What's New
LockYit 1.3 is a security release. It adds more protection to your account, to the vault on your devices, and to Local Sync and Local Sharing. It also gives the navigation menu a simpler layout. Update all your devices to 1.3. A device on 1.3 cannot sync or share with a device that is still on an older version. See Update all your devices.
More protection for your account
- Confirm it is you - Some actions change how your account is protected. These are a new master password, two-factor authentication (2FA) on or off, a new recovery key and the deletion of your account. For these actions, LockYit asks for your master password again, and your 2FA code when 2FA is on. A person who gets into a signed-in device cannot change your account. Read more.
- Signed out everywhere after a security change - A new master password, a change to 2FA or a recovery signs out your other devices. Each device tells you why.
- Limits on wrong attempts - After too many wrong passwords or codes, LockYit shows a countdown and lets you try again when it ends. Correct sign-ins never count. Read more.
- Safer account recovery - The code from your email is no longer enough. Recovery also needs your recovery key itself, and your 2FA code when 2FA is on. If you type the email code wrong, you can try again on the same screen. Read the Account Recovery guide.
- Verify your email first - You verify your email address before you turn on 2FA. Verify now is the first action in Settings > Account, and the 2FA setting takes you there too. Read more.
- Clear Data on Device signs you out - Clearing the data on a device now also signs that device out of your account.
- Told when an update is needed - If your version of LockYit needs an update, the app tells you. It also takes you to the store.
More protection on your devices
- Clear Clipboard - When you copy a password, LockYit clears the clipboard after 1 minute, or after a time you choose. It also clears it when the vault locks. Read more.
- Block Screenshots - LockYit now keeps your vault out of screenshots, screen recordings and screen sharing. It is on by default on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows and macOS 14 and earlier. Read more.
- Locked means locked - When the vault locks, LockYit removes your vault key from memory.
- A wait after wrong master passwords - After 5 wrong master passwords on a device, LockYit makes you wait before the next try.
- Better protected search - The data that LockYit keeps to find your items is now protected by your vault key.
- No app logs in released versions - LockYit no longer keeps a log on your device. It never writes your recovery details to a log.
Safer Local Sync and Local Sharing
- Every transfer is signed - Your devices accept sync and sharing data only from the devices they paired with, and only once.
- A stronger pairing code - The 6-digit code now proves both devices to each other, so no other device can get between them.
- Your device names stay private - When you add a device, the list shows only your own devices, by name. Other people on the network cannot read those names.
- See who you pair with - When you set up sharing, the pairing screens show the email and the device of the other person. Check them before you enter the code.
- Items stay with their items - Encrypted data copied onto another item, or an older copy of the same item, no longer opens.

A simpler navigation menu
- Lock first, Logout behind it - The button at the bottom of the navigation menu now locks your vault. You do this every day. Logout is behind the arrow next to it. On a computer, the File menu also has Logout next to Lock vault.
- Icons on phones and tablets - Local Sync, Settings, Support and Lock are now one row of icons at the bottom of the menu. The row is clear of the iPhone home bar. In landscape, the menu no longer adds extra space at the sides.
- Sync all with more options - On the Local Sync screen, the arrow next to Sync all has network help and Disable Local Sync. It replaces the three-dot menu.
- Device Name - App Title in Settings is now Device Name. You can also edit it with the pencil next to the name at the top of the Local Sync screen.
Update all your devices
LockYit 1.3 changes how your devices talk to each other, to make sync and sharing safer:
- A device on 1.3 cannot sync or share with a device on 1.2 or earlier. That device shows as offline until it is updated.
- Update all your own devices, and ask the people you share with to update too.
- You do not need to pair again. Your devices and sharing contacts keep working after they update.
Updated Terms of Service
We updated the Terms of Service on October 23, 2026:
- Founding User Program - The Founding User promise is now in the Terms. An account created by 23:59 on December 31, 2026 (UTC-12) keeps Local Sync and Local Sharing free for that account, with no expiry. Read section 8.
- Service Continuity - If we plan to stop the service, we will tell you at least one year before. Read section 9.
- Minimum age - The minimum age is now 16, the same as in our Privacy Policy.
- Governing law - The Terms now name the laws of India and the courts in Bengaluru.
